March for Moms

Talent, Leadership, + Board Development

Guiding mission clarity and strategy through thoughtful transition.

March for Moms engaged WOCC during a pivotal leadership and governance transition. Initially seeking strategic planning support, the organization’s needs evolved to include executive coaching, mission clarity, and governance guidance. Through candid dialogue, participatory planning, and a full-day board retreat, we guided high-stakes decision-making that ultimately led to a merger with 4Kira4Moms, strengthening the movement for maternal health advocacy.

  • WOCC facilitated a full-day, in-person board retreat in Washington, D.C., employing tools such as the Predictive Index to assess and strengthen team dynamics. Through a participatory planning process and stakeholder engagement, we helped the board and executive director explore their mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability.

In addition to group facilitation, we provided executive coaching to the executive director, supporting her leadership during a shift in board governance structure and guiding high-stakes conversations about the organization’s viability. We created space for candid dialogue about whether March for Moms should continue independently, sunset, or merge with another organization.

    • Clarified the organization’s mission and strategic direction during a leadership transition.

    • Facilitated critical decision-making that resulted in March for Moms merging with 4Kira4Moms, led by one of their former board members.

    • Strengthened board cohesion and alignment through participatory facilitation and team dynamic assessments.

    • Supported the executive director’s leadership capacity during a period of organizational uncertainty.
