Women of Color Collaborative

Creative Direction

Transforming individual strife into communal liberation

As the organization’s first and core audience, Erika and Nicole built WOCC’s visual identity and voice from the ground up, developing curricula, podcasts, video series, event promotions, and digital content that affirm and uplift women of color. Our events and initiatives are identity-centered, community-informed, and designed to engage all the senses and serve as spaces for collective care. We are not influencers; we are disruptors. As such, our creative output is liberatory by design and driven by what makes Erika and Nicole feel the freest.

  • WOCC’s branding, illustration, layout and print, digital campaigns, and video production are done in-house, ensuring our online presence, visuals, and narrative touchpoints align with our mission and resonate with our community. Our approach is rooted in clarity and intention: for each goal or deliverable, we articulate the what, so what, and now what in ways that inspire engagement and action. Across multiple signature projects we design experiences and visual assets that reflect the depth of our values and the diversity of our community.

    • Black Women Listen: Designed promotional graphics for a series fostering safe, affirming spaces for Black women and femmes to engage on topics from political power to personal relationships.

    • WOCC Around the World: Produced hand-drawn t-shirt and greeting card designs for cultural immersion trips, helping participants feel celebrated and connected.

    • WOCC Week: Developed a full digital brand identity for an online event series during lockdown, creating graphics and video content that kept members engaged and inspired.

Through these projects, WOCC strengthened member engagement, expanded its reach, and built a recognizable visual identity that supports our mission of collective liberation.
